Burlington Bar and Dining continues Matthew and Lela’s preference for suburban restaurants that can happily cater for corporate clients and locals alike. Burlington Bar and Dining is located in the geographical hub of the northern suburbs, the 100-seater restaurant has two distinctly different rooms – one that is a modern take on the classic bistro setting; the other a more contemporary space – as well as a private dining room that seats 25. An added advantage of the location is that the new restaurant will also be able to offer lunch five days a week, with dinner served Monday through Saturday.
Since his early days in Essex, Kemp has honed his skills at restaurants around the globe. He has worked at some of London’s finest hotels and restaurants including The Square, a Michelin two-starred restaurant. Kemp’s current restaurant philosophy is simple: high-quality, affordable food in a suburban location that offers something for foodies and the common man alike. As reviewer Simon Thomsen of Good Living describes it;
“Kemp’s food is both utterly delicious and astonishingly good value. I could add it’s also occasionally complex yet elegantly simple, enormous fun and demonstrates a wonderful talent for elevating humble ingredients above their status.”
Head chef Chad Muir is manning the kitchen. Muir has worked at the Michelin-starred restaurant Pied à Terre in London, Gully Restaurant in Newcastle and Restaurant Balzac in Randwick before coming to Burlington Bar and Dining.
